The baby app that understands your rhythm
After two weeks of tracking, HeyFini knows your normal: how long the nights are, how many feeds and diapers a day has, when bedtime is. And then tells you what is different today.
In short: After seven tracked days HeyFini knows your normal for each figure and tells you in one sentence what is different today. After three weeks the app checks 36 fixed questions, such as whether the night after teething days was shorter. All rule-based on the iPhone, no AI diagnosis, part of HeyFini Pro.

What is actually normal for us?
Every baby has its own rhythm. So HeyFini doesn't compare with tables, it compares with you: for every measure, from the night to meals to diapers, the app takes the median of the last 14 tracked days. One outlier day, say after a vaccination, doesn't move the normal. A day only counts if you logged that category on it. And with fewer than seven such days HeyFini honestly says how many are still missing instead of guessing.
The Today vs. Normal card shows the current day against this normal, with a chip per measure: “as usual” or “+45 min”. It only compares up to the same time of day. Seven hours of sleep at noon is normal at noon, not “six hours too little”.
HeyFini noticed: one sentence instead of a table
In the morning the home screen says how the night went: “Slept 10 h 15 min last night, 38 min less than usual.” During the day, deviations are added, always as number against number: “Diapers: 2 so far, usually 5 by this time.” Plus a weekly trend when there is one, and in the evening whether the day was typical. At most five sentences, the most important first, each with the numbers behind it.
HeyFini never judges. Under every deviation it says “Just a note, not a judgement”, and whoever wants to know more taps “Ask the AI about it”. If you like, the night sentence arrives as a notification in the morning.
What goes with what?
From three weeks of data on, HeyFini looks at what occurs together on your days: “On teething days the following night was 40 min shorter on average.” “On days with a walk there was one more nap on average.” Behind this are 36 fixed questions built from diary tags like teething, tummy ache or sick and from measures like awake stretch, bedtime or solids. No free search, because whoever searches 30 days for anything will always find something.
Only what has at least five days on both sides and clearly differs is reported. And never as a cause: it is a connection, not a reason. Your midwife and pediatrician know what may be behind it.
What has changed?
This week against the week before, this month against the one before, per measure the median. At the top, the biggest change as a sentence: “Longest sleep went up from 3 h 14 min to 4 h 6 min.” So you see how your baby develops without reading charts.
What is next: the top of the home screen
Since 4.1 the very top of the home screen shows what your baby most likely needs right now: tired, hungry, diaper or all on track. Below it the next events as capsules, each with a tap on the why. With HeyFini Pro, “HeyFini thinks” is added, advice for the moment: “The wake window is full. Keep it calm now and offer sleep.” Every piece of advice names its reasons.
A look at the day
Between 6 and 11 in the morning HeyFini looks at the night and the day before: short night, late bedtime, a teething day. That becomes one sentence, “Today could be an unsettled day”, with the reasons and a rough plan for naps and bedtime. Just a hint from your numbers, not a judgement. Pro, also as a good-morning message.
If your baby falls asleep now
In the sleep tab HeyFini runs three scenarios: short, normal, long. For each it says when your baby will probably be awake, when the next sleep is due and whether it goes straight into the night afterwards. The same calculation as the sleep coach, just thought one step ahead. Pro.
How your baby ticks
A profile from the last 14 days: bedtime mostly 7:40 to 8:20 pm, nights, feeds, diapers, favourite side when nursing, with the trend against the week before. Not the average of all babies, but yours. Under Statistics, Pro.
Month in review and outings
A full month as a picture to share: nights, feeds, diapers, new foods, milestones, weight and up to three photos. And for the outing: pick departure and duration, HeyFini says what will probably happen on the way and packs the list with diapers, bottles, purée and rain cover. Both Pro.
Why no AI diagnosis?
Everything here is rule-based and runs on your iPhone. No language model decides what is normal, no server sees your data, and every sentence comes from a fixed pattern in four languages. That is why HeyFini cannot invent or exaggerate anything. And that is why it stays with notes: whether a short night is a tooth, a growth spurt or an infection is a question for people who know your child.
Today vs. Normal, connections and “What has changed?” belong to HeyFini Pro. One sentence a day from “HeyFini noticed” is free for everyone.
Frequently asked questions
When does HeyFini know our normal?
After seven tracked days per measure. Until then the card shows how many days are still missing. Connections need 21 days so that chance doesn't become a sentence.
Does HeyFini judge whether my baby sleeps too little?
No. HeyFini only shows what is different from usual for you, number against number. Under every deviation it says “Just a note, not a judgement”. Whether something is too little is for your midwife and pediatrician to decide.
Where do the connections come from?
From 39 fixed questions, such as: are nights shorter after teething days? HeyFini compares days with and without the condition and states the difference in the median. It is a connection, not a cause.
Does this need the internet or an AI?
No. The rhythm profile, the sentences and the connections are calculated on the iPhone, without a language model and without a server. Only “Ask the AI about it” opens the optional AI chat.
